Service Questions
What does a test cost?
Testing for eligible domestic or irrigation backflow devices 2 inches and under is $90 and includes certification and district filing. Submission timing, district processing and acceptance can vary. Devices larger than 2 inches need a team review for pricing.
What does a repair cost?
A standard rubber-kit repair for devices 2 inches and under is $560.20 plus tax. It includes a complete rubber repair kit for the device (check discs, O-rings, seals and diaphragms as applicable), new test fittings, disassembly, internal cleaning, installation of the included components, reassembly, diagnostic testing, and submission of certified results to the water district. Hard parts such as springs, poppets, checks, seats, modules or damaged metal components are not included; if they are needed, the team provides a separate estimate. Not every failed device qualifies for the standard repair, so an inspection and test come first.
What do replacements and new installations cost?
A backflow replacement is estimated at $1,250–$2,500. The final price depends on device size, location, configuration and required work, and can include removal, installation, testing and district submission when applicable. Final pricing is confirmed after review. A new backflow installation is estimated at $2,850–$3,200. The final price depends on the device, site conditions, configuration and required work, and can include installation, testing and district submission when applicable. Final pricing is confirmed after review.
What happens if my device does not pass?
When a device fails, the technician explains what was found and the repair or replacement options. A standard rubber-kit repair for devices 2 inches and under is $560.20 plus tax with hard parts extra, but not every failed device qualifies, and repairability can’t be guaranteed until it is inspected.
